WE R BOB
Zora and Chez have been wooing audiences together across Europe now since 2010 when the couple chucked a few tunes together, jumped in their van and crossed the channel. Since its humble birth as a money spinner to fund their holiday, the project has transformed into the now cherished grassroots, queer sing-along known as “We R Bob”. So far, these local treasures have conquered France, Belgium, Germany and Portugal with their musical weaponry and plan to stop at nothing less than world domination.
Renowned for their natural stage banter, the Brighton duo have become regulars at venues like Pride women’s tent (now the Sheila McQuattie Stage), the Ranelagh, The Brunswick, Lewes Con Club, as well as many women’s nights, charity fundraisers and glorious lesbian weddings!
Seasoned funk-jazz saxophonist Chez, spent a third of her life misbehaving at the best of British festivals with the notorious trilby adorned, ska-dance protagonists Los Albertos as one third of their riotous, high energy horn section.
Originating from south London, Zora’s unique, captivating voice and spellbinding songs ensnare the most resilient of audiences. After moving to the coast, she singlehandedly spearhead the feisty yet charming gypsy folk-roots band “The Tatsmiths”, who’s well loved signature sax and fiddle blend is a favourite across England's alternative music and folk trails.
Together their rich musical backgrounds combine to create their own alternative spin on many loved classics spanning decades. Their enchanting assortment of songs, from Shirley Bassey to Queen to Scissor Sisters, ensures something for everyone; this pair can charm the socks of your granny whilst slipping you a tequila slammer or two under the table!
With tongue-in-cheek antics that keep the chuckles rolling, We R Bob still fail to mask their impressive musical magic. Their bold, seamless harmonies, evocative sax and driving guitar leave audiences wondering if there's actually a stage-load more musicians hiding behind a curtain somewhere close!
